Down in the Bathypelagic Zone the prductivity rate is pretty high. Most of the organisims feed off of dead organisms that fall to the bottom of the ocean. Most organisms that are down there have lived for a long time. Orgamisms in this zone don't reproduce as often because there is very little food and not enough to go around.
