Organisms dont get all the nutients out there. They mostly feed on dead animals or organisms that fall to the bottom. Some even catch there own prey beacause they create bioluminesents. This helps attract prey so that they can kill and eat them. Most organisms with this light ability have stinging cells. These cells help paralize there prey to make it easier to catch. Most fish in this midnight zone don't have swim bladders so they constantly have to keep moving, and this makes the fish more lip cause of the lack of energy. That is why its so easy to catch prey, but on the down side most fish are dark in color and most of the time can't be ssen so the fish have to rely on there scense adn be absalute patient.
